Yesss: The Gals at Tiara Media

. . . . had thought this would make a fabulous theme song for the McCain-Palin campaign ticket. A few hours later, it showed up in my e-mail in-box, and I saw the potential . . . it has always been one of my favorite Heart songs.

Thanks, Darrell: you're all about the American virtues. Mom, apple pie, and mashing the enemy into powder under one's boot. (But, you know: with love.)

1 Good pick. I think that the McCain campaign could adopt these lyrics in particular to explain his VP choice: "If the real thing don't do the trick You better make up something quick"

2 Sarah-Cuda!!!!!!! If the established Democratic lineup is viewed by the American people as over-ripe chum, find someone like Obama that nobody knows and hasn't yet imprinted himself on the voters' collective gag reflex. Add messianic references and assorted new-age crap to accentuate the lipstick on the pig and voilà!!!! Thanks for the suggestion.

3 Well, old Coca-Cola commercials are actually a terrific idea for the Obama campaign, from "it's the Real Thing" to "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." I think all the New-Age goodness would come shining through--punctuated, perhaps, with Obama descending from heaven in a shaft of light. But then he'd have to be joined by his gabby, cranky Beltway-insider VP candidate who doesn't like to answer questions put to him by mere-mortal reporters, and the illusion would, once again, be ruined.

4 Sen. Joe Isuzu laid another whopper on the crowd gathered for the "One's" Accession with his story of the Casey Boys. Since Bob was 12 years older than Biden and Bobby was twelve years younger--and Biden left Scranton when he was ten--how old was Bobby when he knew him? His boss told a stirring story of how the Selma March brought together his parents--and thus, him. "Coming home..." Except that he was four years old at the time of the march. Hillary often told the story about how she was named after Sir Edmund. Until she blamed it all on her mother. Why all this lying when you can rely on your own record, your own story? Oh. Forget I said anything. My grandfather was a simple goat herder. And that's the truth. Like my traditional African name.
