Yesterday,
Professor Purkinje forwent the "political woodie" he says he would have got from making me wait in the car while he went to vote for Obama in the Maryland primaries.
Instead, he ran around the lab in an Obama T-shirt, singing "Oh, Bama, oh oh Bama, oh oh—lookin' for my Obama."
It's possible that he borrowed the melody for that one from the White Boys who started it all.
(Note: no comments about the good professor here. In a way, I envy anyone having any hope or idealism about politics right now. I wish I could vote for Obama and think it would do any good. Say what you like about Obama—it you put my friend down I will hunt you down and drill you full of holes.)

This was the democrat plan, one year before the election and all three candidates are democrat, now after eight years in office what was Karl Rove's plan. Let me guess, he failed to plan.
Exit stage left

Still plenty of time for the Left to pluck defeat from the jaws of victory. I've arranged for Barack to do a little tank driving in May. I've ordered the helmet already. In June, we have a visit to a NASA clean room.

Does it matter Darrell? A Democrat will be elected in either case.

My friends are still trying to talk me into voting for the Democrat who cusses more, rather than writing in Virginia Postrel as a protest vote.

I too am envious of anyone who feels any sort of inspiration about this election. Good luck to them.
I just hope the Obama supporters are not too disappointed when:
Scenario #1: The Clinton machine uses every dirty trick in the book to screw him out of the nomination.
Scenario #2: If by some miracle, Hillary fails to steal the DEM nomination -- he will certainly beat McCain. Then Obama and all of his hopefully idealistic supporters will quickly learn how cold and cruel the real world can be.
Sadly, the rest of us will share the pain in either event.
