I Wrote a "Road Trip" Story.
It starts on the East Coast, and ends on the West Coast. It's long and boring. It was rejected twice before I figured out that I should be submitting pieces I actually
like to literary journals, so when the rejection slips come I can snap my fingers and condemn their shitty taste and inability to see my sheer fucking poetry-in-prose for what it is.
Turns out the way to write about a road trip is under stress and on the fly.
If today's the last day for a while, Harrell, you'd better make it good.
UPDATE: "You didn't tell me you were going to kill it!"
Silly me, thinking The Shape of Days would stay on the web, and simply not be updated. Oh, well. If you didn't read my link this morning, you're SOL. We can only hope you-know-who resurfaces someday, with more verbal crack.

Don't get me started on the literary journals. Your stuff is being screened by some idiot freshman. And the whole attitude is about 30 years behind the culture, very academic, which is why university writing programs can be poisonous.
Also, anything longer than 3000 words is a tough sell

Jeff is engaged in a cheap publicity stunt. He just wants us to write him whiny little notes about how he CAN'T give up his blog.
But I refuse. (Okay: what I mean is, I've already sent him the whiny little notes.)
