I Don't Want to Get Into a Cat Fight, Here.

But in my less-Christian moments I'd love to get this bitch a taste of her own medicine.

We got rid of slavery in the 19th Century; I wonder if the Middle East will manage it in the 21st. If so, it will be just as bloody a process.

The way a country treats women often tells you all you need to know about it: beyond that, the news rarely gets any better.

1 That's true. I totally agree with you. You said my point to the linked post.

2 If those girls only had dreams, dreams that were truly supported by their mothers. Like Wafa Al-Bas, a 21-year old woman from Gaza who intended to bomb Be'er Sheva's Soroka Hospital outpatient clinic, where she had been receiving regular treatments for serious burns on 45 percent of her body resulting from a gas stove explosion in her home. Al-Bas' mother said in the PA TV interview that she knew that her daughter had wanted to be a martyr since she was a little girl, but had not encouraged her - not because she opposed the idea of suicide bombing, but because Wafa was female. "If it was a boy, I would have supported, but since she is a girl I discouraged," she said. http://israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=99327 Maybe Aisha Gaddafi will give those girls in Libyan social rehabilitation centers an alternate "life" path.

4 Hopefully, House Gaddafi isn't long for this world.

5 Anytime! I know you're a sucker for stories about a mother coming around to finally support her daughter's "life" dreams....

6 How regrettable, that Aisha Gaddafi wasn't beside her sister Hanna, in 1986, when Reagan bombed Gaddafi's compound after Libyan terrorist bombed a Disco frequented by American soldiers. Aisha would be with Allah now, serving as one of the 73 virgins...

7 That was not Aisha's sister. Gaddafi adopted the girl AFTER she was killed, then called her his daughter. The Guardian has some lovely additional info: the imprisoned skanks & hos make attractive wives because they're free, whereas the cost of a wedding can be steep

8 It's a step above honor killings, so I assume it's meant to be "compassionate". Yi-iy... I almost typed "I wonder what Azmat thinks of this story", but then I realized I already know: This story is a Rovian Plot (tm) planted by administration toadies and meant to distract from Bush's negative ratings at home, brought on by his conservative judicial appointments. Either that, or it's part of an elaborate plot to construct a pretext for an invasion of Libya.

9 "That was not Aisha's sister. Gaddafi adopted the girl AFTER she was killed, then called her his daughter" Gaddafi Adopting a dead girl for propaganda? I'm shocked... NOT! You've got to forgive me my ignorance on the subject I wasn't reading newspapers back then.

10 Jeff of BA follows that whole family as if they were Hollywood royalty, and he were an "entertainment journalist" (i.e., celebrity whore).

11 When you look at the face of Moammar, does it look as if it is meltiing, sort of like wax? Kinda like Michael Jackson's older bigger sister.
