I'm Here at the, um, "Victory Party."

McCain just conceded.

I'm going to finish my martini, eat my quesadillas, and go back to Gentleman Blogger's home. (Yeah: today I've had a doughnut to eat, plus whatever protein and vitamins were in my fruit smoothie.)

I'm glad I listened to Glenn Beck for a while this afternoon: he pointed out that if things didn't go "our way," we needed to go back—tomorrow—to remembering that this is a Democracy, and "the people have spoken."

No biggie, I guess: we just got Beta'd.

1 Only in Glenn's more spiritual moments will he cheer the rest of us on, telling us to hold our heads high. When he's down, maybe there in the half gloom before sunset - sitting there by himself? I can bet he's picking up the paper, scanniing the Help Wanteds. As he's pointed out so often, talk radio and deer hunting and saying what one really means about anything will vanish within our lifetime. God help us all.

2 Congratulations to all Americans for restoring the confidence of the whole world. I am proud to say that I am a new immigrant to this country and willing to do my best to make a better future.

3 Azmat--really? Would that include reading a book if I asked you to? (I got a 3-4 titles in mind, but I could winnow it down to one if you're willing. I'll even send it to you.) And I'll trade for any film/book you want me to see/read.
