Stop Googling my
orange, if you're going to use it for the wrong reasons. I ran a picture of an orange to support the Ukrainians—not to take sides in the Irish troubles.
And take it from a Methodist girl who converted to Catholicism: using any form of Christianity as an excuse to beat up or harrass others is not exactly What Jesus Would Do.
Stop killing and intimidating each other. Keep on your leaders to tone down their rhetoric. (Yes: I'm talking about Ian Paisley.)
If the descendants of slaves here in America can live side-by-side with those whose ancesters ran plantations, you can probably manage power-sharing in Northern Ireland. And in case you hadn't noticed, the Liberal Democratic tradition is under attack in all its forms: you have bigger problems now than you have for the last few hundred years.
Pray for your enemies. Pray for peace. And ease the fuck up.

It's just mental mastication. They are lusting after your orange, pure and simple. Remember those long discussions on Althouse started by that socialist-in-training Irish lass that used the availability of oranges as proof that Americans are spoiled parasites, gobbling up all of the world's "goodies", consuming all of the world's resources in the process ? She went on to explain that she had her annual orange and orange juice on Christmas Day--just the way Karl Marx intended. Her American relatives couldn't appreciate her joy because they have orange juice every f'ing day. The Irish are downloading your photo, coveting what they can only dream about--and doing God-knows-what with it. Porn for socialists.

I have, in my yard, two orange trees, one tangerine tree, two lemon trees, a grapefruit tree, a peach tree, a persimmon tree, an avocado tree, a loquat tree, and a fig tree.
Of course, I only get figs in September, and other than the citrus trees the local wildlife siphons off most of the rest of the produce.
But--Geez!--if you aren't getting enough fruit in your area, build some effing greenhouses. Or make other stuff so you can trade with people in the Americas.
Vitamin C: it's a HUMAN RIGHT!!!!!
