John Kerry has a history of insulting soldiers and Marines, from the Ghengis Khan remark to the Winter Soldier hearings to that horrible book he wrote about Vietnam.
So either the remarks he made the other day were a continuation of that habit, or he doesn't have the command of the English language one ought to expect of a United States senator, and is too stubborn to admit that fact.
His intentions don't matter: he either meant it the way it came out, and/or he is stupid.
1
He meant it AND he is stupid.
Just as stupid as the press that never once noticed that part in his Congressional testimony in the 70's about Nixon sending him on a secret mission to Cambodia on Christmas Eve 1968---almost a month before Nixon's Innaguration...

The luxury of being able to live and succeed without significant mental effort has caused Kerry's brain to atrophy.

If you want your monkeys to perform like thoroughbreds, you have to treat 'em that way . . .

I read the line as it was "supposed" to have been spoken and the only thing I have to say to Senator Kerry is - either revist your education or get your eyes checked for reading glasses because you left out some VERY important words.
And people are still defending him and insulting the military. I don't like any one group being painted with such a broad brush stroke, even if there are SOME members of the military who fit the 'uneducated' profile he tried to build. I told one person I generally like but hate her politics, to hate the war all she wanted but please don't hate on the men and women out there fighting it.
