Plenty to Blush About

. . . when Darleen and I look around and see what our pro-choice "allies" have to offer in the way of critical reasoning.

Women in Islamic countries live under house arrest and are having their genitals removed, but we're oppressed in this country for not having over-the-counter access to Plan B. Super.

1 AG I'm glad you keep a level head while I lose mine occassionally. This really hit a hot button for me. Dana couldn't have written a more unflattering article if she was a Moby from Operation Rescue. I struggled, worked, cajoled, punished, rewarded and otherwise raised my girls to be responsible, ethical adult women...and to have Dana tell them not to worry as there is nothing that will happen to them that they can't blame on someone else. In this area it is not at all about the politics..it's about the values.

2 It isn't limited to reproductive issues. There are people out there who will tell you they are unemployed or underemployed because of "the Bush economy." Sheesh.

3 Lets not forget EEOC. A woman wrote a letter to the editor for our local paper claiming women were discriminated against. Her example; that 10 men were running for a US senate seat and not one woman! When our culture encourages failure by blaiming someone else, they usually succeed.

4 Yup. We are "a nation of victims." How sad. Especially considering that we are the richest nation in the world, with the most class fluidity--or close to it--and enjoy levels of medical care and access to information that we didn't have even 20 years ago. Boo fucking hoo.
