The Fundamental Question:

"Did the God of Socialism fail, or not?"

That is what this election is about.

Did the vampire of redistribution that had me enthralled during my college years ever lose its appeal?

Because it still wants blood, even now.

1 I wonder where Mr. Obama stands on fiscal reparations for slavery? It would certainly be wealth redistributive to use his hideous coinage. Things have been strangely silent on that subject recently.

2 I do enjoy American's when they flirt with socialism. "We'll get it right this time," they say, "and no Kulaks will be hurt or damaged by American Commissars." They then proceed to use the same tactics that made the Soviet Union, Red China and Cambodia into worker paradises, "But it can't happen here," they assure us. As Chou En Lai observed: "Americans are delightful they have no historical memory." Lefty's opponent can't just disagree, he has to be evil, immoral or criminal. He is a blotted capitalist, a capitalist insect, a running dog of counter revolution, whatever just so long as everyone gets the idea that if you disagree you disagree with Lefty you should be locked away. Which of course is the first thing they do when they achieve a Socialist Democracy. Shortly there after they start shooting Kulaks. Sometimes I wonder about people who worry so much about their rights being taken away by the world's longest running democracy then embrace a system whose great human exponents are giants because they stand on a mountain of corpses. Socialism is a theory with a long history, maybe someone smarter than me can show a place where a revolution raised up a socialist government without victims, I can't. Why such a theory, with such a track record of violence against humanity can be entertained entertained by an educated person is beyond me. Thank God, according to well known socialist Upton Sinclair writing about a tyranny that fancied itself National Socialism "It can't Happen Here."
