4 My thoughts exactly. We've got to face it - a substantial proportion of the population of the West wouldn't know what to do with a fact if it bit them on the foot. The question is only "How substantial?"

IF you were going to worry about anything, worry instead about a China with an excess of males and a newly developed industrial might. Historically, an excess of males has led -- every time -- to an increased militarism... and with a few hundred million excess males, that's a hell of a lot of increased militarism... just when they are breaking out of their century-long rejection of technology use.
